We were recently ask this question

"Hope you can help me. I have found a single  cine frame (or old negative) in a family heirloom showing two gentlemen playing golf (we think he is a relative of ours.)

The frame is in reasonably good condition but is very small (about a centemetre in size). Are you able to produce a print from this size image?"


Although we were not sure exactly what to expect, we said yes we would have a look and see if it was possible. In the post we received the tiny piece of what was obvious old 16mm amateur cine film measuring 16mm square.

Our examinations revealed that it was in fact one and threequarter frames of two men playing golf cut from an amateur cine film.Below are the results of the complete frame.
